AEF receives $2,000 Equity Advancement Grant

MUNCIE - The Heart of Indiana United Way awarded a $2,000 grant to the Anderson Education Foundation (AEF) at their Annual Grants and Gratitude event on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Ivy Tech in Muncie. The grant, made through their Equity Advancement Fund, will support students at Anderson Community Schools (ACS) through their Opportunity Fund.

The AEF Opportunity Fund serves to help ACS students access funds which would otherwise serve as a barrier to their educational attainment while at ACS. The Opportunity Fund has helped ACS students with academic fees, licensure, uniforms, athletic fees, field trips, cap and gown, and other fees that would have otherwise prevented their participation in an event or activity.

The Heart of Indiana United Way's Equity Advancement Fund is a partnership between Heart of Indiana United Way and the Community Foundations in the Heart of Indiana region. It is a new mini-grants program designed to help strengthen and advance equity in Delaware, Fayette, Henry, Madison, and Randolph Counties.
